                         WHO WE ARE

The History of Elogeme Adolphi Christian Sorority

In 1975, the Lord spoke concerning a Christian sisterhood to be established on college campuses nationwide.

The sisterhood would be based on the principals of Christ. The ultimate goal would be to promote unity, teach spiritual discipline, and prepare young women to operate effectively in the body of Christ.

Elogeme means " Blessed of the Lord". It denotes divine favor or chosen by God. Adolphi translated as sisterhood, denotes a natural or spiritual relationship (Matthew 12:50).

As women grow academically and socially, Elogeme assists them in operating the teachings of our Lord into productive daily living.

This vision was given by the Holy Spirit to Evangelist Mattie P. Dawson, and it came to pass in 1987 on the campus of Bradley University. With the supportive vision of the first National Advisor, Denice Ross Haynes, and National Officer, Judy Hendricks, Elogeme has been established on campuses in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia.

On October 17, 1987, Elogeme Adolphi Christian Sorority began with:

 WHAT MAKES ELOGEME ADOLPHI

DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SORORITIES?

What is Elogeme Adolphi?

  • A Christ-centered organization designed to build, edify, and teach women how to grow and reach their full potential in the body of Christ.
  • An organization that promotes unity in plurality among women.
  • An organization that is dedicated to community service.
  • An organization of vision to impact the world for Christ
  • An organization that will lend to the perfection of the total woman: spirit, soul, and body, thereby having everlasting ties.

What Elogeme Adolphi is NOT

  • - Though Elogeme acknowledges the historic importance of other organizations, Elogeme is not a sorority as we know it, but a spiritual discipline.
  • - It is not a Social Club.
  • - It is not limited to a particular church or denomination.
  • - It is not a competitor or organization of secrecy.
