In 1975, the Lord spoke concerning a Christian sisterhood to be established on college campuses nationwide.
The sisterhood would be based on the principals of Christ. The ultimate goal would be to promote unity, teach spiritual discipline, and prepare young women to operate effectively in the body of Christ.
Elogeme means " Blessed of the Lord". It denotes divine favor or chosen by God. Adolphi translated as sisterhood, denotes a natural or spiritual relationship (Matthew 12:50).
As women grow academically and socially, Elogeme assists them in operating the teachings of our Lord into productive daily living.
This vision was given by the Holy Spirit to Evangelist Mattie P. Dawson, and it came to pass in 1987 on the campus of Bradley University. With the supportive vision of the first National Advisor, Denice Ross Haynes, and National Officer, Judy Hendricks, Elogeme has been established on campuses in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia.
On October 17, 1987, Elogeme Adolphi Christian Sorority began with:
